After John saw the opening of the seven seals and God’s judgement poured out onto the earth, he saw angels holding back destruction to protect the 144,000 Jews who had been sealed by God during the tribulation period. Then he saw a great multitude of white-robed people standing around the throne of God, which lead to an eruption of praise from all who surrounded the throne and an elder tells John who these people are.
